He is offering not only words of comfort but a promise of rest and relief. This month’s edition will look into mental health counselling, what it is, its benefits, understanding, tips and what steps to take.

What is mental health counselling?
According to the World Health Report of 2001 by World Health Organisation, mental health is defined as “a state of well-being in which an individual realizes his or her own abilities, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to his or her community”. To the lay man’s understanding, an individual can unlock the door to a brighter tomorrow through mental health counselling as a passport to a transformative journey of self-discovery, empowerment, and healing.
