BREAKING THE GATE OF BRASS

Breaking The Gate of Brass

Introduction

The Scriptures declare: “He hath broken the gates of brass, and cut the bars of iron in sunder” (Psalm 107:16). This profound promise reveals the liberating power of God over all satanic barriers and limitations. Brass gates represent demonic strongholds, stubborn obstacles, and occult resistances raised against the destiny of God’s people. But in Christ, there is absolute victory, for “the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil” (1 John 3:8).

Every believer is called not to bow to these gates of brass, but to confront them with prophetic declarations, silence occult arrows, break satanic shackles, and stand covered under the blood of Jesus. This exposition will walk through these themes, equipping us with biblical understanding and divine strategies for victory.

Page 1 – Understanding Satanic Barriers and Limitations

From Genesis to Revelation, we see satanic resistance against God’s children. Pharaoh resisted Israel’s departure from Egypt, building layers of barriers—labour, intimidation, and death threats. Nebuchadnezzar raised a fiery furnace to silence Hebrew worship. Herod placed Peter in prison with iron gates and soldiers (Acts 12:5–10). These are pictures of the “gates of brass” that attempt to limit God’s purposes.

Brass in Scripture often symbolises strength and judgment (Deuteronomy 28:23). Satanic brass gates represent stubborn situations that refuse to yield easily—generational curses, financial stagnation, marital delay, chronic sickness, and unseen embargoes on progress. Yet, Isaiah 45:2 records God’s promise: “I will go before thee, and make the crooked places straight: I will break in pieces the gates of brass, and cut in sunder the bars of iron.”

For every child of God, barriers are not the end. Paul reminds us: “We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed” (2 Corinthians 4:8–9). Satan may erect brass gates, but God specialises in breaking them.

Page 2 – Silencing Occult Arrows

The devil’s arsenal includes invisible arrows—occult manipulations and witchcraft projections meant to derail destinies. Psalm 91:5–6 declares: “Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.”

Occult arrows manifest as sudden fear, confusion, recurring misfortune, strange sickness, or even tormenting dreams. But Scripture teaches us that these arrows can be silenced by divine intervention. Zechariah 2:5 assures: “For I, saith the LORD, will be unto her a wall of fire round about, and will be the glory in the midst of her.”

The prophet Balaam, hired to curse Israel, discovered he could not penetrate God’s covering: “Surely there is no enchantment against Jacob, neither is there any divination against Israel” (Numbers 23:23). When believers stand in Christ, no occult power can dominate them. We silence arrows by declaring God’s Word, living in obedience, and surrounding ourselves with prayer and fasting.

Isaiah 54:17 guarantees: “No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn.” Condemnation here is a spiritual counterattack: through prayer, prophecy, and the blood of Jesus, we disarm and silence the enemy’s arrows.

Page 3 – Freedom From Satanic Shackles

Brass gates imprison, but shackles immobilise. In Acts 16, Paul and Silas were shackled in the innermost prison. Yet, as they prayed and sang praises, the prison doors opened and their chains fell off (Acts 16:25–26). Shackles represent limitations—unseen restrictions that make progress difficult. Many are free physically but enslaved spiritually, emotionally, or financially.

Isaiah 61:1 proclaims the Messiah’s mission: “to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound.” Christ has given His Church authority to break every yoke. Galatians 5:1 instructs us: “Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.”

Deliverance from shackles is not mere relief but permanent freedom. When Jesus healed the woman bowed for eighteen years, He declared: “Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity” (Luke 13:12). Freedom comes when we embrace the Word of God, renounce every hidden covenant, and walk in obedience to the Spirit.

Page 4 – Effective Prophetic Declaration

The Word of God in the mouth of a believer carries power. Proverbs 18:21 reminds us: “Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.” Prophetic declarations align our speech with God’s will, enforcing heaven’s verdict on earth.

Ezekiel was commanded to prophesy over dry bones: “So I prophesied as I was commanded: and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold a shaking, and the bones came together” (Ezekiel 37:7). In the same way, believers must learn to prophesy against satanic barriers, declaring freedom, favour, and divine acceleration.

Jesus taught us to speak to mountains: “Verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea… he shall have whatsoever he saith” (Mark 11:23). Brass gates respond to divine decree, not human reasoning. When believers declare, “Lift up your heads, O ye gates… and the King of glory shall come in” (Psalm 24:7), satanic resistance is compelled to yield.

Effective declaration requires faith, authority, and alignment with Scripture. We do not declare our will, but God’s will revealed through His Word. Every prophetic utterance must be anchored in the promises of Christ.

Page 5 – Covered by the Blood of Jesus

The greatest weapon against satanic gates, arrows, and shackles is the blood of Jesus. Revelation 12:11 declares: “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony.” The blood is God’s seal of protection, deliverance, and covenant.

At Passover, God instructed Israel to apply lamb’s blood on their doorposts. “And when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you” (Exodus 12:13). Today, the blood of Jesus is the believer’s Passover covering. It silences the accuser (Hebrews 12:24), disarms principalities, and speaks mercy over judgment.

To be covered by the blood means to walk in the finished work of Christ—confessing sins, living in holiness, and appropriating redemption daily. It is not a ritual chant but a covenant reality. The enemy trembles where the blood is invoked in faith.

Page 6 – Practical Keys to Breaking Brass Gates

Breaking satanic barriers is not a one-time event but a lifestyle of victory. Practical steps include:

  1. Consistent Prayer and Fasting – Jesus said, “This kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting” (Matthew 17:21). Some brass gates require intensified spiritual warfare.

  2. Scripture Meditation – The Word is the sword of the Spirit (Ephesians 6:17). Declare promises like Isaiah 45:2–3 daily.

  3. Praise and Worship – As with Paul and Silas, praise releases God’s earthquake power.

  4. Holy Living – Sin empowers satanic shackles; holiness breaks their grip. “Resist the devil, and he will flee from you” (James 4:7).

  5. Prophetic Declarations – Speak God’s Word over your life, family, and destiny.

  6. The Blood Covering – Plead the blood daily over your home, health, and journey.

These keys enforce the reality of Christ’s victory at Calvary.

Page 7 – Conclusion: Walking in Lasting Victory

The breaking of brass gates is more than deliverance; it is entrance into divine inheritance. Israel’s gates opened so they could journey into Canaan. Peter’s prison gate opened so he could continue his apostolic assignment. Your gates must open so you can fulfil your God-ordained destiny.

Isaiah 60:11 proclaims: “Therefore thy gates shall be open continually; they shall not be shut day nor night; that men may bring unto thee the forces of the Gentiles.” When brass gates are broken, favour flows unhindered, destiny unfolds unhindered, and the glory of God manifests without restriction.

Beloved, rise with boldness. Confront the brass gates with prayer, silence occult arrows with Scripture, break shackles by the Spirit, declare God’s Word with faith, and walk covered under the blood of the Lamb. The same God who delivered Israel, Peter, and Paul is still breaking gates of brass today.

“If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed” (John 8:36).
